I am wholeheartedly committed to working with the City and County of Broomfield (CCOB) and the Eagle Trace Community Development Corporation (ETCDC) to reach the best resolution. As an open space advocate, I'd like to see the city ensure this thriving ecosystem is preserved.

Increased Water Rates

As a resilience-minded community, we need to invest in infrastructure now to ensure everyone will have access to clean, reliable water in the coming years as our existing infrastructure ages and Broomfield's drought risk increases. The city council in 2024 pushed for the Utility Rate Assistance Fund, a reimbursement program to ease the cost burden for eligible residents. If you are trying to decrease your water usage, there are many available resources to help navigate that transition.

Council has approved everything for the development to move ahead and is waiting on the developer. They are performing site testing now, lining up financing, and plan to break ground Fall 2026.

As a resident, I'm excited for the new restaurants and retail. I see it as a net positive for our community, strengthening the heart of Broomfield by creating more gathering spaces and keeping tax dollars here in Broomfield. I have heard a lot of concern about the lake and I share that concern (in light of my comments above about future water scarcity), though we are still being told that it cannot be removed from the design that was already approved. I will continue to question this position.
